I was extremely pleased with the quality of the item once I received it, and my mom was very happy to have the CD. I finally broke down and decided to try purchasing it as a used item. Love the CD at Christmas time, and I am happy I was able to give my mom something she loves that's of a great quality. I have been trying to find this CD for my mom for several years (she has had the cassette tape for ages now). It's impossible to find it in any store I've been to, and online it's very expensive to buy new.
My favorite Garth Brooks music release. I had the tape cassette, wanted the cd because it is no longer available from releasing company.
thanks for the great service and quick delivery. I had tried to get this CD before and thankfully got it now.
I love that most of these song are religious, something almost impossible to find unless you specifically look to Christian artists. Garth's renditions of Go Tell It on the Mountain and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen are the standard to which I now always hold these songs.
It is hard to find, but it is the best one you'll ever find, and far, far superior to Garth's follow-up, The Magic of Christmas, which I've never bothered to purchase. I really wish that this album would be re-released.
Every year I search for new Christmas albums of all genres that I won't mind listening to over and over. I love the spirit and feeling put into these song.
Simply put, if you want Christmas music, real Christmas music, find a way to buy this album. Few have barely been worth having at all, but I have a few I tolerate, but none as great as Beyond the Season.
(Believe me I have, and theirs don't cut it either).
If the other songs on the album are only half as good, I will be well pleased. Garth's voice lends a haunting plaintive sound to the story of a poor but loving child wanting so much to give something good to the baby Jesus, and speaks something about the innocence and hope of children. I really only wanted "Gift" which for some reason causes my eyes to leak water all over my face, and chokes me up everytime I hear it. I don't really understand why Barth doesn't release this song as a single download, as apparently it is highly prized.
